About Horsham
Horsham is a vibrant, diverse regional community situated 300 kilometres north-west of Melbourne in the heart of the Wimmera region, Victoria. The Wimmera has a rich agricultural heritage centred around mixed farming and grain cropping and is home to the world leading Australian Grains Genebank (AGG), our national centre for grain crop genetic resources that underpins Australian crop research and development.
There is significant social capital invested in landscape conservation through community-based seed banks, several Arboreta and nurseries, as well as regenerative agriculture practitioners and land care. The Wimmera is also a biodiversity hotspot, the geographical and biological transition between temperate and arid Australia, that supports a diversity of habitats and species including three endangered ecological communities, and the spectacular Grampians Gariwerd National Park just south of Horsham. September is the perfect time to visit this National heritage listed treasure as the Park transforms into garden of wildflowers.
The conference will be held in the state-of-art conference centre on River Road Horsham. Delegates will get to experience local attractions and excellent regional food and wine at the Welcome Reception at the award winning Barangaroo Winery and the Conference dinner at the Horsham Showgrounds.
Find out more about Horsham and the region via Visit Horsham or Visit Grampians.
